EuroBirdwatch 2009
EuroBirdwatch is an annual event organised by BirdLife International, and part of World Birdwatch - a global initiative established over 10 years ago. The goal is to encourage the European public to go bird watching over one weekend, and to record sightings of as many as possible of the world's 10,000 bird species.
This year Vogelbescherming Nederland (BirdLife in The Netherlands) was the European Centre for organising this wide-reaching, joint international event. This year EuroBirdwatch was part of the Born to Travel Campaign, BirdLife's international awareness campaign to stop the decline of migratory birds travelling between Europe and Africa.
